Canine autoimmune or immune mediated hemolytic anemia (IMHA or AIHA) is an autoimmune disorder that is often fatal in canines. Over the last 6 months there's been a significant increase in cases of IMHA, which can be triggered by vaccines, flea products, antibiotics, and other causes.
My articles on IMHA on Suite 101 are accompanied by numerous comments from dog owners. Today Laurie sent an update on her dog Louisa with some invaluable tips. The pdf file of the article is in the 1st page of the archives, Healing in Canine Hemolytic Anemia.
