should she stop the Selenium?

    so followup to your previous answers....do you feel she should stay on the 200mci daily of Selenium or cut back on it? and if stopped does it need to be weened off like every other day and then stop or can it just be stopped?

    and you stated the acetyl-l-carnitine is a good option for Graves? any benefits for TED? and what would be suggested dose of it for a 12 year old? I DONT WANT TO HAVE HER TAKE BOTH SELENIUM AND acetyl-l-carnitine THOUGH... THANKS

    Hi,
    You can always lower the selenium to 100 mcg. And then wait on starting ACL so you're not introducing too many new things at once. Most good multivitamins have some ACL in them. A dose of 500 mg would be adequate.
    I wouldn't make too many changes at once although there's no reason not to take both selenium and ACL since these are naturally occurring substances. best, elaine
