    Hi Elaine,

Wondering if you have any experience with treating dumping syndrome? Mine started not long after the onset of my thyroid going hyper. My thyroid numbers are all back in the normal range, and I've been off Methimazole for 4 weeks, yet my stomach still moves food too rapidly into my small intestine. The symptoms are similar to hyperthyroid, such as sweats and increased heartbeat. I also experience weakness and low blood sugar within 1-2 hours after eating a meal, usually lunch. I drove myself to Kaiser Urgent Care this morning to make sure I wasn't relapsing into hyperthyroid. Blood tests showed my TSH still well in the normal range at 1.66 (.45 - 4.50). I'm not due for another full thyroid panel for 2 more weeks, so the urgent care doctor didn't test T3, T4 or FT4.

I am seeing a gastro on April 26 for a gastric emptying test. I don't have much confidence that the doctor will suggest any natural methods of dealing with this problem. I expect her to prescribe a pharmaceutical as treatment, of which I have had enough at this point.

    Do you have any suggestions?

    Best regards,

    Hi Brian,
I'm sorry that I don't have experience with this. One of my children has something similar called eosinophilic esophagitis which affects swallowing food and immediately throwing it up. If you have anything like that it'll show up on the endoscopy that you have scheduled.
You could see an immunologist to check for food allergies but other than that you'll get more info from the GI tests in June. best, elaine
