    Hi,

I have had RAI about 17 yrs ago for graves and treated with synthroid only. I met with a new endocrinologist and they did labs and said I still have some thyroid function which they can tell by looking at my tsh, I also have hashi’s ecause my Thyroglobulin Antibody is 1.1, and that I am becoming insulin resistant as my C-Peptide Serum was 6.1.

My tsh was .436, I am still only on t4 but she got me on unithroid which she says is more consistent than synthroid. She did prescribe me cytomel .25 1/2 pill two times a day but I haven’t started yet because I haven’t done ducks in a row and am a little scared since she says I have hashimoto too. She said she is not concerned about my adrenals because my tsh is low and if it was high she would be concerned about that.

She did not have me fast before the labs or stop supplements which I do take puregenomics which among other things had methylated b as I have heterozygous mfthr gene and it has d, selenium c, k zinc.

    So tsh was .436
    Thyroxine 9.4
    T3 uptake 30%
    Free thyroxine index 2.8

Hub A1C with eAG estimation hemoglobin A1C 5.3

    Vit d hydroxy 66.7

    Thyroid stim immuglobulin .11

    Thyroglobulin Antibody 1.1

And again c peptide 6.1 and I was not fasting

There are other things she tested for so if you need more info let me know.

Are there other things I should get tested for?

    Should I retest off supplements?

Should I be concerned about the c peptide, insulin resistance scares me and she just recommended cut down on carbs and exercise more but I already exercise daily and I guess I could cut cabs more, I eat a lot of vegetables.

I am concerned I still don’t understand why she is reading labs the way she is and if it is safe to start cytomel, not enough time and education for me so want to find another dr. If anyone has suggestions for dr I. Louisville KY area or a specialist anywhere ideally functional medicine practitioner who is expert in Graves and can do telehealth please email me at amymudd@yahoo and put graves in tag line and thank you.

    Thanks you!
