    Hi Elaine ,

I hope you doing fine. I have still issue regarding my eyes. My left eye still bigger than in my right eye but most of the time it's my right feeling swollen and the eyelid going down. It was started in July when my blood test Tsh 0.36 (normal range 0.3-5.0), FT4 7.8 (normal range 7.9-16.0) and i am taking PTU 100mg in the morning that time and 50mg in the evening. You told me during that time that it's because i'm going to hypothyroidism and you advise me to take only 50mg of PTU. Afterwards my eyes get a little better as I can tolerate the sunlight without pain, but my leaft eye still bit bigger than right eye. On September 19 blood test done and result were Tsh 0.01 ( 0.3-5.0), FT3 6.1 (3.8-6.0), FT4 12.5 (7.9-16.0) I decided to cut down my PTU to 25mg even my endocrinologist want me to take 100mg twice a day of PTU as my Tsh went down, my eyes still the same left eye is bigger than right eye. latest blood test was done on october 17 the results were Tsh 0.01 (0.3-5.0), FT3 5.4 ( 3.8-6.0) and FT4 12.2 (7.9-16.0), my FT3 and FT4 are normal now but my left eye is still bigger than my right eye for which bothering me now because it's very obvious and make my self -esteem down. Kindly pls advise me what to do in able to put my eyes back to normal. At this time I have nasty cough and cold for which I think worsen my eyes. Thank you

    Hi,
Your October labs look good. Have you had your 25OH vitamin D level checked? Having an optimal level can help TED as can B vitamins and eye exercises. Your TED was most likely from your FT4 falling too low. This increases thyroid antibody production and the antibodies cause TED. A good nutrient rich diet can also help and so can 100 mg COQ10 daily.
Remember to avoid any known or suspected allergens too. Best, Elaine
