    Elaine

I recently asked if it was fine to drink coffee an hour after taking my morning dose of Synthroid and you said it was fine. I meant to also note that I put half and half or cream in my coffee and I know that dairy is supposed to be eaten at least 4 hours apart from taking Synthroid. Is it fine to have a a tablespoon or two of cream in my coffee if its only an hour after my meds. Not sure if it makes a difference when taking in small amounts of dairy.

Also I know soy products should be avoided especially in hypothyroid patients. I understand that it can inhibit Synthroid absorption. I do sometimes use soy sauce (not often). Is this ok if I use it for dinner, when I take my meds in the AM? Can soy products interfere with thyroid meds even when taken after 4 hours apart?

    Thanks!
