The Marshall protocol was developed more than 20 years ago by Dr. Trevor Marshall, a medical researcher known for his work with vitamin D.
Reported to be effective for autoimmune diseases with a Th1 immune response, the Marshall protocol is reported to work for sarcoidosis, systemic lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, Hashimoto's thyroiditis, type 2 diabetes, uveitis, adrenal insufficiency, bipolar disorders and periodontal disease.
According to Dr. Marshall, many of the bacteria normally found in the body reside in the body's cells where they trigger an immune response. Via the vitamin D receptor they induce genetic changes and produce lipids that damage various cell receptors.
With adequate vitamin D, these receptor changes are stopped. For more information on the protocol, see the Marshall Protocol website.
