Ok, t here are my T4 results which are at the high normal level. My endo want to put me on 15mg of tapazole and said that July 1st was the cut off date because I would be on it two years then. Right now I'm on 10mg daily. Should I start the 15mg or stay on 10? I dont understand why she doesnt know what you know. She obviously looks at my TSH and monitors it from there. I dont know if she wil be willing to still order the tests after July since Im refusing RAI. I'm not doing it. I'm taking liquid Bugleweed and hopefully along with the tapazole it will help. I'm so tired of this, but i have faith that I can get my immune system corrected. As I stated in my other post I'm taking Siberian Ginseng which is an adaptogen and is supposed to help correct my immune system. I want to begin taking olive leaf as well. I read some of JES posts and will start making the green shakes this weekend. I just feel like the clock is ticking because my endo is giving me a deadline to be on the meds. I cannot force my body to be well by July 1st. These physicians are so inhuman and I'm tired of it. Will the bugleweed do the same thing as the tapazole. Can people be ok with taking meds for GD?

Hi,

You'd be surprised at the number of endos who don't understand the basics about treating GD even though it's clearly stated in the textbooks. Many get confused about TSH. You don't want to be on a dose higher than 10 mg based on this FT4 result.

It's also not a good idea to use a certain timeframe to stop meds. GD is a self-limiting disorder that runs its course and then resolves and has a variable timeframe. Bugleweed does have anti-thyroid properties and many people use it to attain remission. In general tonics containing several herbs (all with different actions) work best, and Thyrosoothe is very effective. You don't have to be managed by an endo--an internist, osteopath or family practice doctor with experience in GD can help you. I'm glad you found JES's posts. She's an excellent source of information. Take care, Elaine
