THE Q & A

Welcome to The Q&A with Elaine Moore. Hi Elaine
So I stayed on the 5mgs Thank God I didnt alternate with 7.5mg b/c my labs def dropped .I've posted them below ...My endo told me to drop my dose ..He said had it been any other patient he would have them stay on 5mgs but since he has treated me for over 10yrs he knows if they drop too low it takes a large toll on me ..he suggested 2.5mg alternating 5mg ..But I told him 2.5mgs mayb alternating 1.25mg or jst 2.5mg a day and i will re-lab in a few weeks ..What do you think ?

Hi TTS,

Wow, you've made great progress. A 2.5 mg dose sounds like a good idea. But if you notice any hypo symptoms (suggesting that FT4 and FT3 are continuing to fall), then alternating with the 1.25 mg dose might work, but at least to start I'd opt for the 2.5 mg daily dose. Congratulations, Elaine
