Elaine

Thank you for the information. What test are recommended to have run? My doctor stated that he would no longer run a TSH on me as the numbers are all over the place.

These are the test that I will be asking to have run - If I need any additional ones please let me know.

B12
Vit. D
Ferritin
Free T4
Free T3
T3 Uptake
T4
Reverse T3

I'm hoping that this is the year that I finally get my levels where they need to be and for me to finally get to a place where I can loose the weight.

Hi Jean,

You need another 25OH vitamin D level, and you need an FT4 and FT3 level. There's no need for the T3 uptake (which measures binding proteins, not thyroid hormone), a total T4 or a reverse T3. The FT4 and FT3 measure the levels of available active hormone in your blood circulation. You want to find the right vitamin D dose that keeps your levels near 40. best, elaine
