Hi Elaine,

What supplements would you recommend for joint pain? I'm currently in remission from Graves but have been experiencing mild joint pain and discomfort in recent days...what could be causing this? Makes me wonder if I need to get my labs run again. Last time was only a few months ago in April and everything looked great. Thanks in advance.

Hi M,

Joint pain can be caused by hypothyroidism so having thyroid function tests would be a good idea. Look carefully at the FT4 to make sure it's not on the low side, which would suggest a spontaneous move into hypothyroidism.

For joint pain, boswellia is excellent and it's in many over the counter products such as Osteoflex. Ginger and curcumin are also helpful and any of the antioxidant vitamins can help. best, elaine
